But even these points of contact is not absolutely that seems to us. Take, for example, eyes - yours "windows in the world". Actually it not "windows", and even not a camera. You sometime were interested in why the camera can never grasp a being of a visual image which you see? Eyes are much more distinguished tool, than a camera. Separate receptors, sticks and flasks of a retina react not to light, and to changes and distinctions in light.
Many people can clear fancies and think mainly pictures. Others find this point of view difficult. They can long interpret with themselves whereas others base the actions most part on the feelings in relation to a situation. When the person tends to use traditionally one internal channel of perception, this channel is called in the NLP as its preferred or primary system. Possibly, it is more acute and capable to do thinner distinctions in this system, but not in others.
We use the same neurologic ways for internal representation of experience and for his direct experience. The same neurons generate electrochemical charges which can be measured. The thought has direct physical manifestations, the brain and a body represent one system. Imagine for a moment that you eat the favourite fruit. Fruit can be imagined, and here salivation - no.
Representative systems are not mutually exclusive. It is possible to visualize a scene, to have the feelings associated with it and at the same time to hear sounds though it can be difficult to pay attention to all three systems at the same time. Some part of thought process nevertheless remains extramental.
The more the person is absorbed by the inner world of pictures, sounds, feelings, the less he will know that occurs round it, as that well-known chess player on the international tournament which so went deep into a position which he saw the internal look that ate two full lunches for one evening. He absolutely forgot that ate the first time. "Lost in thoughts" is very successful description. The people enduring strong internal emotions also okazyvayetsya less sensitive to external pain.
So, how you remembered it? Perhaps, the picture of that place emerged in your head? Perhaps, you said the name or heard the sounds accompanying rest. Or, maybe, you reproduced the feelings. The thinking is so obvious and banal action that we never reflect on it. We prefer to think of of what we thinks, but not how we think. We also assume that other people think in the same way, as well as we.
Vzualny, audialny and kinestichesky systems are primary representative systems. Feelings of taste, flavoring system, and a smell, olfactory system, do not yavlyaetsya so important and often join in kinestichesky system. They often serve in a kachesta of powerful and very fast communications with the pictures, sounds and feelings associated with them.
We use the sense organs in the external way to perceive the world, and an internal way "to represent" () experiences to itself. In the NLP those ways on which we receive, we store and we code information in the brain, - pictures, sounds, feelings, smells and tastes - are known as representative systems.
We use all three primary representative systems constantly though we realize them not equally, and we have tendency to give preference to one in comparison with others. For example, many people have an internal voice which arises in audialny system and creates internal dialogue. They list arguments, again listen to speeches, prepare remarks and, as a rule, discuss various things with themselves. Nevertheless, it is only one of ways of thinking.
If the closed communication cycle also has any beginning, this beginning - our ograna of feelings. As Aldous Huxley emphasized, doors of perception are our sense organs: our eyes, a nose, ears, a mouth and skin is our only point of contact with the outside world.
When we think that we see, we hear and we feel, we recreate these pictures, sounds and feelings in ourselves. We endure information again in that touch form in which we originally perceived it. Sometimes we realize that we do, sometimes not. Whether you where you went to the last holiday can remember, for example?
